XXL - XS represents the emerging discipline of ecological design by assembling a wide range of innovators with diverse interests. Published by Actar, we were asked to transform the new book from Mike Silver and Mitchel Joachim into a functional object that reflected the book's core principles. Its premise is focused on the search for a holistic architecture that uses the best techniques to connect directly with existing natural systems while creating a renewed ecology that can sustain itself well into the future. Working as berger + stadel + walsh, a special printing ink was invented in order to transform the publication into a functional and lasting Carbon Dioxide scrubbing device. XXL - XS and it's custom dust jacket function as a membrane, breathing and capturing CO2 with every new read.
